Your LIC is convening five public workshops and online engagements to hear from the community about their priorities for waterfront development: Economic Empowerment and Career Development; Resiliency and Public Open Space; Community Resources, including schools, recreation, and culture; Comprehensive Neighborhood Planning, including mobility and sustainable infrastructure; Density and Uses, including planning for an inclusive LIC. The outreach included online submissions at YourLIC.nyc and a public workshop with approximately 100 community residents on December 16, 2019 at Hunter’s Point Community Middle School.

Economic Empowerment and Career Development

The Your LIC team conducted community outreach activities focused on Economic Empowerment and Career Development along the Long Island City waterfront. The outreach included meetings with the Queensbridge, Ravenswood, Woodside, and Astoria Houses Tenants Associations as well as online submissions at YourLIC.nyc. This outreach culminated in a public meeting with approximately 120 community residents on November 21, 2019 at Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement.
